The short answer: open the free HTML Viewer, paste your HTML or drop the .html file in, and click Get a live link. Sign in with Google and you get a link anyone can open, free, saved to your own account.
AI tools are great at making single HTML pages: a landing page, a report, a slide deck, a little game. Then they hand you a file, and the file just sits in your Downloads folder. Here's how to upload that HTML and turn it into a URL anyone can open.
Option 1: the HTML Viewer (about a minute)
You can do it right here. Paste your HTML into the box below, or drop your .html file on it:
Previewing stays in your browser. Only Get a live link uploads the page.
Or open the full-size HTML Viewer. Either way, it's three steps:
- Paste your HTML, or drop the
.htmlfile in. - Check the Preview: it shows exactly what people will see, scripts and styles included.
- Click Get a live link and sign in with Google. It's free, and your HTML is kept while you sign in.
That's it. You get an address like calm-river-x7k2.webly.site that works on any phone or computer. Made a change? Edit the HTML and click Update live link: the same link now shows the new version.
The page is a site in your free Webly account, so it stays online until you delete it. From the dashboard you can add a contact form, see who visited, or put it on your own domain.
Option 2: let your agent publish it
If you made the page with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or the ChatGPT or Claude app, you can skip the file entirely:
- Click Copy setup prompt at the end of this post (it's also on webly.ai).
- Paste it into your agent once. It connects itself to Webly.
- From then on, just say:
Publish this to Webly.
The agent puts the page live and gives you the link. Ask it to change something later and it updates the same link, so you never have to send a new one. It works for whole sites with several pages, images and files too, not just one HTML file.
Other free ways to host an HTML file
Webly isn't the only option. Here's how the free ones compare:
| Best for | What you need | Updating the page | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Webly | Pages you'll keep updating | Free account (Google) | Paste or ask your agent, same link |
| GitHub Pages | Developers already using git | GitHub account and a public repository | Push a commit |
| Netlify Drop | A whole folder of files | Nothing at first; a Netlify account within an hour to keep it | Drop a new folder |
| Tiiny Host | A quick one-off upload | Free account: 1 active project, up to 3 MB | Upload again |
- GitHub Pages is free and reliable if you already use GitHub. On the free plan the repository has to be public, so it's best when your page lives next to open code.
- Netlify Drop puts a dragged-in folder online without an account, but the site is password-protected and deleted unless you claim it with a Netlify account within about an hour.
- Tiiny Host is a simple upload-and-share tool. Its free plan covers one active project up to 3 MB, with up to 5,000 visits a month.
Pick Webly when you expect to keep changing the page: paste new HTML yourself, or let your agent (or a teammate's) edit the same live page.
Keeping it online and using your own domain
- Free: your pages stay live at a
yoursite.webly.siteaddress, with HTTPS. Up to 25 sites. - Hobby ($5/month): put a page on your own domain, like
mysite.com, and add a password if it's private. - Pro ($20/month): for teams editing sites together.

Putting HTML online: FAQ
Is it really free?
Yes. Previewing in the HTML Viewer is unlimited, and the free plan includes up to 25 live sites. See pricing for what Hobby and Pro add.
Do I need to sign up?
Only to get a link. Previewing works without an account. For the link you sign in with Google, which takes a few seconds, and your HTML is kept while you do.
Does JavaScript work?
Yes. Scripts, styles and inline images all run, in the preview and on the live page.
Can I update the page after sharing the link?
Yes. Click Update live link in the viewer, or ask your agent to change it. The link stays the same, so nobody needs a new one.
Is my HTML private while I preview?
Yes. The preview runs in your browser, and nothing is uploaded until you click Get a live link. Once it's live, anyone with the link can see it. To keep a page private, add a password on Hobby or Pro.
Can my AI agent publish it for me?
Yes. Copy the setup prompt below, paste it into Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor or any agent, and from then on just say "publish this to Webly". See how it works.
